Frankie Boyle's autobiography available to pre-order on Amazon now

Frankie's autobiography, My Shit Life So Far is now available to pre-order here: http://www.amazon.com/My-Shit-Life-So-Far/dp/0007324499/ref=ed_oe_h

Published by Harper Collins and due for release October 1st 2009, the book is packed with personal anecdotes as Frankie tells his story, from growing up in Glasgow through battling alcohol and drug addiction and working at his first job in a mental hospital.  All told in Frankie's inimitable, acerbic style.

In Frankie's own words:  "It's great to finally be getting a book published after the years of work I wasted on my porno version of the Bible"

Josh Howie writes for the Guardian and bidding starts for his fascinating autobiography

Josh has written a fantastic piece entitled Dial 'D' for Dreidel which is available on the Guardian website here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/belief/2009/may/29/haredi-helpline-orthodox-jewish

This is Josh's third article for the Guardian.  In Moving in with Grandma, Josh relates his brilliantly awkward and entirely true experiences of moving in to his Grandma's house with his heavily pregnant wife.  You can read this article here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/may/15/josh-howie-grandmother

In another piece, The Divine Comedy http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/belief/2009/feb/19/religion-god-humour Josh takes an irreverent look at the relationship between religion and comedy - a topic that he is certainly qualified to discuss considering his personal experience of training to become a rabbi before being kicked off the programme and turning his hand to comedy. This formed a central part of his sell out 2008 Edinburgh stand up show, Chosen.

Josh's fascinating autobiography is in its early stages but will detail his out of the ordinary upbringing and famous family.

Pippa Evans stars in new Radio 4 series, Newfangle, first episode available on iplayer now

Pippa Evans is starring in a brand new sitcom on Radio 4 entitled Newfangle.  Set hundreds of thousands of years ago, the radio sitcom features a cast of 'proto-human' characters.  The title character, Newfangle, is despised by his mother, savaged by alpha male Alf on a daily basis and ignored by Snaggle, his favourite female, played by Pippa.  To cope with his situation, he invents language, which he hopes will transform his situation, only to find that words have a way of being twisted to new and unpleasant uses.

Episode 1 is available for the next week on BBC iplayer here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00knpvw

The series, with a cast including Russell Tovey, Maureen Lipman and Hugh Bonneville continues on Mondays, 11.30am on Radio 4: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00knpzk/episodes/2009

Demetri Martin's new film Taking Woodstock receives standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival

Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock, starring Demetri as Elliot Tiber premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and received a fantastic reception with a standing ovation.  The film is set for general release on August 14th in the States and 30th October in the UK.  The film follows Elliott, a closeted gay artist who leaves the city to return to help his parents run their motel in the summer of 1969. Whilst there, he inadvertently sets in motion the epic generation-defining concert Woodstock.

Trailer available to view here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Iq8z2WDbKo&feature=related

Demetri has also been cast alongside Brad Pitt in the forthcoming Steven Soderbergh film Moneyball, about ballplayer-turned - Oakland Athletic General Manager Billy Beane (Pitt) and his attempt to field a competitive team on a slim payroll.

Demetri will play Paul De Podesta, a Harvard grad who turned down Wall Street jobs to use his statistical skills to change baseball scouting tactics. His system, known as "Earned Run Value," allowed Beane to evaluate valuable players he could hire at low cost.  The film is due for release in 2011.
