At
just twenty years old, Jack Whitehall has made a remarkable impact
upon the comedy world. Just
a year after his impressive debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
and with a host of competition titles and an array of live
appearances under his belt, this so-called ‘newcomer’ is
currently co-writing and hosting TNT Show on Channel 4.
He also hosted Celebrity Big Brother’s Big Mouth for its three week run live on
E4 and other recent television appearances include The Sunday Night Project, 8
Out of 10 Cats, Ruddy Hell! It’s Harry and Paul and Would I Lie to You.
Born
into a theatrical family, Jack initially worked as a child actor
in various television dramas but shortly after leaving school he
decided to pursue a career in stand up comedy. Six
months later, aged 18, he beat over 600 contestants to become the
youngest ever comedian to reach the final of the prestigious Laughing
Horse New Act competition for which he finished runner up. In
addition, he battled his way through a tense two night
London
competition to secure a place on the Pleasance
Comedy Reserve. Whilst
at the Fringe, he reached the final of Channel 5’s So
You Think You’re Funny? and was crowned the youngest ever
Winner of The Amused Moose
New Act of the Year, leading Time Out to pinpoint him as “a
rising star.” Jack
has established himself on the London circuit, having appeared at
all the top clubs including The
Comedy Store, Banana Cabaret, Jongleurs, The Monday Club and
Funnyside and he recently supported James Corden and Mat Horne on
their mini tour, Is This
Funny? In August he will be heading back to the Edinburgh
Fringe Festival with his first, hotly anticipated solo show.
Jack is making a strong impression
on the London circuit, having appeared at The
Comedy Store, Banana Cabaret, Jongleurs, The Frog and Bucket, The
Funnyside of Covent Garden, 99 Club, The
Arts Theatre and The Soho Theatre.
