Winners:
Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album 2008!
With
the massive success of their critically acclaimed self-titled
television series, Flight of the Conchords have acquired a devoted
international following. With
a 2008 Grammy award secured and four nominations at the 2008 Emmy
Awards, this guitar-playing comedy folk duo, New
Zealanders Bret Mckenzie and Jemaine Clement, are one of the
hottest and most creative acts around.
The UK looks forward to their sorely-missed
acoustic-digi-bongo-acapella-rap-funk-comedy-folk sound. The next
batch of beautifully ludicrous songs and deadpan dialogue from the
coolest and most creative comics around is eagerly awaited by
industry folk and fans alike.
With
the US well and truly conquered, the Conchords have no current
plans to be in the UK for the immediate future so UK fans will
have to make do with their Radio Series (available to buy in shops
now) and the BBC 4 run, the first series of which is now available
to buy on DVD. The
Conchords completed a live tour of
America
– a tour which sold out in ten minutes whilst their album
debuted at number three in the
US
music charts. With two
series completed, the show has been nominated for four Emmys.
