----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sarah Millican on Michael Mcintyre's Comedy Roadshow BBC1 Sarah is currently making her debut at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with an all new stand up show http://www.comedyfestival.com.au/season/2009/show/sarah-millican-sarah-millican-s-not-nice/ Last month she recorded a spot on the brand new BBC1 series, Michael Mcintyre's Comedy Roadshow, filmed at the Manchester Apollo. The series is due to air in June, more details to follow. Sarah's vocal talents can be heard in the pilot for a hilarious new BBC1 show Walk on the Wild Side, which we expect to be commissioned for further shows this summer. The show features a cast of comics who provide the voices of various animals over real natural history footage. In Frankie's own words: "It's great to finally be getting a book published after the years of work I wasted on my porno version of the Bible" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack Whitehall, Andrew Lawrence, Pippa Evans, Sarah Millican, Jack Whitehall and Jimmy Carr announce Edinburgh shows We are delighted to announce that Andrew, Pippa, Sarah, Jack and Jimmy will all be taking brand new shows up to the Fringe in August. Andrew, Pippa, Sarah and Jack will all be returning to the Pleasance Courtyard whilst Jimmy will resume his residency at the EICC to debut with his new tour show Rapier Wit. After hosting Big Brother's Big Mouth and storming the Royal Albert Hall recently, Jack will make his Edinburgh highly anticipated full length show debut with Nearly Rebellious. Andrew, who has been nominated twice for the if.comedy award and is currently performing at the Melbourne International Festival http://www.comedyfestival.com.au/season/2009/show/andrew-lawrence-my-contemptible-life-in-a-gutter-of-abject-desolation/, will be performing his fourth consecutive solo show Soul-crushing vicissitudes of fortune! Pippa, who has recently completed a sellout run at the Soho Theatre with her if.comedy nominated 2008 Edinburgh show returns with a new show, featuring some brand new characters (and some familiar favourites). Sarah, who is also currently in Australia, returns with her second show Typical Woman, following on from last year's show Sarah Millican's Not Nice, which won her the if.comedy Best Newcomer Award. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jimmy Carr announces brand new tour and will record his fifth live DVD at Bloomsbury Theatre in May Jimmy will be recording his Joke Technician show for his fifth all new stand up DVD which will be released in November this year. Performances will take place at the Bloomsbury Theatre 1st, 2nd and 3rd May (2 shows recorded on the Saturday and Sunday). Manager says “Jack Whitehall is one of the hottest new comedians out there
at the moment and we are very excited to be working with him. 4DVD is committed
to developing stand-up comedy and we’re focused on working with cutting edge
comedy talent - we feel Jack definitely fits into this category.” Jack recently stole the show at the Royal Albert Hall at an evening hosted by Horne and Corden to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Entitled Jack Whitehall's Secret Census, the show is studio based with guests and an audience but also features hidden camera stunts surrounding a chosen topic, to assess how different members of the general public react, leading to further comical discussion with the studio audience. He performs with Lenny Beige at Piccadilly's Pigalle Club the last Wednesday of every month. More details http://www.jasonwood.info/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flight of the Conchords return to BBC4 with the second series of their smash hit show As the second series wraps up in the States, the Conchords are set to return to our BBC4 screens next month with the second series of their acclaimed HBO show. Exact TX details are to be confirmed so watch this space! A UK tour will happen but exact dates are still to be confirmed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Demetri Martin stars in Taking Woodstock Demetri will shortly be seen starring in Ang Lee’s new film, Taking Woodstock which is set for release August 14th in the States and 30th October in the UK. Demetri plays Elliot Tiber, a closeted gay artist who leaves the city to return to help his parents run their motel in the summer of 1969. Whilst there, he inadvertently sets in motion the epic generation-defining concert Woodstock.
